What is OurOpenSpace?
OurOpenSpace is a marketplace that connects you with independent licensed clinicians for affordable group and individual therapy sessions — online or in person near you. We handle discovery, booking, payments, reminders, and support; your clinician provides the care.
How much do sessions cost?
Every session shows its exact price up front. Sessions are either free or priced between $20 and $100 — the price you see is the price you pay, with no membership fee, no sign-up fee, and no hidden charges. Clinicians pay the platform fee, not you.
How do I pay?
Securely by card or U.S. bank account (ACH) through Stripe. OurOpenSpace never sees or stores your card or bank numbers. Free sessions require no payment details at all.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Cancel from your dashboard. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the session start are refunded to your original payment method. If a clinician cancels a session or series, everyone registered is refunded automatically.
What are recurring series?
Some clinicians run multi-week series on a fixed schedule. You can pay up front for the whole series or by monthly subscription — both options show total cost before you enroll, and you can leave a monthly subscription at any time.
Are the clinicians licensed?
Yes. Every clinician submits their license details at sign-up and is manually vetted by our team before they can publish a single session. Clinicians on OurOpenSpace are independent providers, not OurOpenSpace employees.
Is online or in-person better for me?
Both are real, live sessions with the same clinicians — online sessions include a secure video link, and in-person sessions show the venue and use QR check-in when you arrive. Filter by whichever suits you; many participants mix both.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit, protected by strict access controls, and never sold or used for advertising. You can add two-factor authentication to your account in Settings → Security. See our Privacy Policy and HIPAA Notice for the details.
Can teens use OurOpenSpace?
Participants aged 13–17 can register with a parent or guardian's email consent — the account activates only after the guardian approves. Under 13 is not supported.
What if something goes wrong with a session or payment?
File a support request right from the payment or session in your dashboard (or from Settings → Support for anything else). Our support team reviews every request, you can reply on the thread, and payment disputes are resolved with a full audit trail.
How do I delete my account?
In the app under Settings, or on the web at /delete-account. Deletion is permanent; a few records we are legally required to keep (payment and audit records) are retained in de-identified or minimal form.
Is OurOpenSpace an emergency service?
No. OurOpenSpace is not for emergencies or crisis care. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988(Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or call 911. More options are on our crisis resources page.
I'm a clinician — how do I join?
Register as a clinician, submit your licensure details, and once vetted you can publish sessions, set your own prices ($0–$100), manage capacity and attendance, and get paid per session. The platform fee is 12% of the session price; you keep the rest.
